The San Francisco Community Alliance for Jobs and Housing is a coalition of neighbors, businesses, and labor who work together to make San Francisco a livable place for all. We care about a thriving economy that is compassionate and prioritizes jobs, housing, and community. Our neighborhoods make up the rich fabric of our diverse community, and we must work together to embrace policies that will ensure that we keep families and working people in our City.
At a time of unrest and instability in our national politics, the Community Alliance believes that we can make a difference in our own backyard. San Francisco is the economic center of the Bay Area and increasingly the country. We have a responsibility to promote the creation of high-paying, sustainable jobs for all San Franciscans by fostering a favorable business environment.
As we continue to create the jobs, it is crucial that we address the housing crisis that is central to so many of the problems we face on a local level. If we can work in unity to address our housing shortage our neighbors can continue to live in San Francisco, families do not have to move to the suburbs for cheaper housing and better educational opportunities, working people can live close to good paying jobs in their communities, and our children will one day able to return to San Francisco and raise their families here.
Through consensus-building and community organizing we can shape San Francisco to be a more diverse, inclusive, and welcoming place for all. Our membership works in concert to support community building, engage our neighbors on issues that affect them, and support legislation that creates good paying jobs and makes San Francisco a more affordable place to live.
